I love to decorate my mantel for all the seasons! Some may say that I’m a little bit of a fanatic when it comes to decorating it. When a new season comes, it gets completely made over into the next one. I really just like to have fun with it! I am so excited to share with you my Easter mantel decor this year!
The mantel is such a great opportunity to really go bold with your decor. It is definitely a space that deserves A LOT of attention, as it is a great focal point in the home. My mantel has become the “thing” that the family likes to see each season and holiday. They are always so excited to see what I have come up with next. The interesting thing is that I really don’t have a plan as to how I will decorate it…it just happens! It usually starts by me grabbing things that I already have and placing them on the mantel. Of course …there’s A LOT of taking down, moving things around and putting them back up. 😂 It’s definitely a process, but it’s so much fun!
The only time you will see my mantel NOT decorated, is when I am taking down one season or holiday to get the new one up. After taking down my Valentines mantel, it was time to get busy getting the easter mantel up! I like to add old and new….meaning previous years decor with some new things. This way I’m not having to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff. I re-purpose a lot of my decor each year. Just by simply moving it around and changing the way I used it the year before, makes it feel like it’s new stuff! I hope that I’m making sense here! 😉
Decorating DOES NOT have to cost you a ton of money! Thrift stores are my go to and a great place to check out for your seasonal decor. You know how the saying goes….One mans trash is another mans treasure! Well, I have scored some great treasures for sure! There is just something about the thrill of the hunt! You know what I’m saying? 😀 For example, these candle holders were a great score and only cost $2.00 each! I purchased the rabbits a few years ago from Home Goods.
I like to have fun with my garland by adding different layers together. The carrot garland is from The Dollar Tree and the middle beaded garland with the tassels was a great Walmart score! The bottom beaded garland was bought a few years ago from Hobby Lobby.
This little bunny bait sack was a diy that I made from all Dollar tree items! It was perfect for the rabbit theme that I have going on here!
Let’s move on to the hearth!
The hearth is definitely a place that you don’t want to leave out when decorating your mantel. It’s a great space that deserves some attention too! To add some height for the easter basket, I used a candlestick holder and just set it on top of it. I like adding different levels of height when decorating, as it is more visually appealing. It takes your eyes on a little journey! This little step stool was perfect to place a few pictures on.
Another thing that I like to do is to keep my color scheme going all throughout. As you can see I have pops of orange, green and brown going on here. I found some spindles from the thrift store and decided to put them into this cute little crate. They provided the perfect pop of brown that I needed to tie into the rest of the decor.
Here she is… the full frontal, top to bottom view of my Easter mantel decor. Isn’t she just so pretty? I like that it will be very easy to transition to a Spring Mantel. All I will really need to do is remove the Easter signs and the bunnies and add a few things and it will be perfect! Stay tuned for that.
