Hello friends! I’m Nikki and welcome to Create Make Decorate! I love to create and teach you how to you how to make beautiful things for your home on a budget. I learned from a very young age from my Mom how to create a beautiful home without having to spend a ton of money.

When I was little, Mom would take me hunting to the thrift stores to see what she could re-purpose and make her own. I was always amazed at how she could take a simple bottle, paint it and turn it into beautiful home decor. I like to say that she was thrifting when thrifting wasn’t cool! Mom passed away in 2014, which brings me to how Create Make Decorate came to life. It’s simple… it helps me honor her memory. Crafting, creating and decorating is what we loved to do together and it has become therapy for me. I started this journey to help me get through one of the most difficult times in my life…the loss of my Mom and my best friend. What I didn’t know through it all is that God had a plan for me.

Create Make Decorate has become more than I ever thought it would be. It has not only become therapy for me, but has become therapy for so many other people. I had no idea that my story would touch so many others. The people that I have met along the way have truly become blessings to me. I encourage people to craft and create through grief because after all…”Crafting is good for the soul.” God has blessed me with this gift of creativity and it is my honor to share my passion with you.

I hope that you follow along this journey with me. Life throws us all a bunch of curves and we all need a creative outlet to get us through. If you are going through a difficult time, I encourage you to pick up a paint brush and a glue gun. I can tell you from experience that it is the best therapy that you can ever receive.
