How to make a fabric flower.

How to make a Simple Fabric Flower

Hey friends, I am here to show you how to make a SUPER EASY fabric flower, that requires no sewing at all! All you need is some scrap material, scissors and a glue gun and you’re good to go! You will be amazed at how fast you can make these and how you can make a bunch in no time at all! Sound easy enough?

These flowers are so pretty and add the perfect touch to your crafty projects! You can use them in so many fun ways too! You can use them for hair bands, embellishments, jewelry and whatever else you can think of.

Here is what you’ll need:

  • Fabric Scraps.
  • scissors
  • glue gun

I bought one of these fabric rolls from JoAnns. They are already pre-cut, ready to go and they come in a variety of colors. They run about $14.99 , so be sure to use a 40% off coupon.

Let’s get started!

For the first flower, I cut one of my strips in half. The length of your fabric will determine how large your flower will be.

What you will do next, is simply fold your material in half and glue along the edges, continuing all the way down.

Next, on the opposite side of where you applied the glue, you will take your scissors and cut into the fabric about half way down the material. I took about half inch sections and worked my way all the way down. This is going to create loops that will become the flower petals.

Now, what you’re going to do is simply start rolling the material, applying hot glue as you go. Make sure that you are rolling it as tight as you can at the base.

Keep rolling and glueing until you get to the end.

This is what you will end up with. How cool is that?

You could leave it alone there and be done with it, or you can add another layer of material. Personally, I think the more layers that you add, the prettier the flower is. Let me show you what I’m talking about!

I took another strip of fabric from my roll, but this time I left it the whole length. All that I did was continue the same process of applying hot glue and rolling the fabric onto the existing flower.

This is what they end up looking like! As you can see, adding the different colors of material just make them look so fun and vibrant! You can continue adding more strips too and make it as large of a flower as you want.

Here are a few more that I made. I added them to a mason jar sign that I painted and they gave it such a fun pop of color as well as adding a little 3-D effect to the project. So, tell me… what do you think? They just couldn’t get any easier to make! What would you make with them?
