Dollar Tree Halloween Ghost Sign

This Dollar Tree Halloween Ghost Sign is the perfect touch you need to add to your Halloween Decor. It is simple to make and you can find most of the supplies all in one spot!

The Dollar Tree offers a good variety of Halloween Decor and a lot of super cute things to get your crafting on! I created this cute Ghost Sign by combing a Dollar Tree Frame and a metal Ghost.

Here is what you will need to make your own Dollar Tree Halloween Ghost Sign:

  • Dollar Tree Picture Frame
  • Dollar Tree Metal Ghost
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Ribbon
  • White Paint
  • Mod Podge
  • Glue Gun

To get started, I removed the cardboard backing from the picture frame and painted the edges of it black. The size of the frame that I am using is 11 x 16 and the scrapbook paper is 12 x12. It didn’t quite cover all of the cardboard up.

Next, I applied Mod Podge onto the cardboard with a paintbrush and let it dry completely.

When it was dry, I placed the scrapbook paper on top and placed a heat mat over it. Next, I used a small iron and ironed over the mat. NOTE: If you do not have a heat mat, you can also use a piece of parchment paper. This is a great way to apply the Mod Podge, as it smoothes out any potential wrinkles and creates a great bond.

I gave the metal ghost a couple coats of white chalk paint. At first I tried plain white acrylic paint, but it didn’t stick to it very well. I ended up wiping it off with a paper towel and re-applied the paint with Rust-o-leum Chalk Paint. That worked much better!

How to decorate your Dollar Tree Halloween Ghost Sign

To add some texture, I decided to hot glue some black and white striped ribbon onto the edges of the cardboard piece. I thought that it finished it off nicely.

Next up, I printed off the words, “Hey Boo” from my Cricut machine. The font that I used it is called Artisan Bread. It looks very similar to Rae Dunn, don’t ya think?

Lastly, I hot glued the ghost on top of the the scrapbook paper and assembled the frame back together! That’s all there is too it.

I think it’s just the cutest, spooky little ghost ever! I hope that you do too. It looks super cute sitting on my mantel next to the Spooky Halloween Ghost Garland. I can’t wait to get to decorating my whole mantel in a cute, little ghost theme.

Do you decorate your mantel for Halloween and if so, do you have a theme? I would love for you to drop a comment below and let me know.
