How to make an Easy DIY Valentines Gnome
I began by cutting my wood down to the sizes that I wanted. The height of my gnome is roughly 2 feet tall. You can customize yours to any size that you like.
I assembled the pieces with wood glue. For extra reinforcements, I added screws. This gave me a great little stand, which will be the gnomes body.
I disassembled the mop with a pair of pliers. Let me tell you that the little black plastic piece required a little bit of elbow grease to get it off!
Next, I started gluing the mop about half way down onto the plastic plate.
To give it some texture, I unraveled random pieces of the mop.
This is what the beard will look like!
I painted an old dresser knob pink for the nose.
Next, I added a little bit of polyfil to the hat. If you can’t find a hat like this, you can use an old beanie or a shirt and tie it off at the end. Get creative and have fun!
Just slip it over the top of the plate and secure it with hot glue.
Add the nose!
How to assemble the Easy DIY Valentines Gnome
This part just couldn’t get any easier, really! I just wrapped the scarf around the wood stand and secured it with hot glue in random places.
To assemble them together, I hot glued the plate onto the material right at the top of the wood piece and secured it on the bottom.
I made a simple bow and glued it onto this BE MINE sign.
How cute did this Easy DIY Valentines Gnome turn out? I sure hope that you enjoyed this craft and you have been inspired to make one for yourself. I just love how cute it looks on my Valentines Mantel and I know it will look cute with yours too!
