Hey friends! Did you know that there are so many creative ways that you can use pool noodles? I’ve used them for quite a few fun crafty projects such as pool noodle reindeer, popsicles and these SUPER FUN pool noodle lollipops! They are fairly inexpensive to buy and you can often find them over at the Dollar Tree.
If you are looking for a fun way to add a Candy land theme to your Christmas decor, these are perfect! They’re easy to make and will cost you about $5.00
HERE IS WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 2 pool noodles ( I got mine from The Dollar Tree)
- cellophane wrapping
- Pvc Pipe
- wooden dowel
- hot glue
- ribbon
- Tape
Let me warn you ahead of time…. You will be using A LOT of hot glue for this project and you will probably burn your fingers a few times! Please be extra careful.
LET’S GET STARTED!!
I first started by cutting down my PVC pipe and my wooden dowels. You can purchase both of these items at your local hardware store. The PVC pipe was roughly $2.70 for a 10 ft piece. I chose the 1/2” diameter and cut it down to 3 ft pieces. I was able to get 3 pieces out of the one.
You will want to cut the wooden dowel about 2 inches LONGER than the PVC pipe. Make sure that the wooden dowel is smaller in diameter than the PVC pipe. Your goal is to insert the wooden dowel through the pipe.
Now, you will just start rolling the noodle as tight as you can, applying hot glue as you go.
This next step is really important! You will need to secure the noodle with some tape and set it aside until it dries completely. I ended up leaving the tape on mine. Make sure to pay attention to the end of the noodle as it will separate and the whole thing will come apart. Been there and done that!
Grab a pair of scissors and create a hole into the noodle. Be sure to make it is deep enough to allow the wooden dowel to get a good grip and to hold the noodle stable.
Now, grab your cellophane and create a wrapper for your lollipop . I just wrapped it like a package. There is no special way to do it. Just go for it!
I used a pipe cleaner to secure the cellophane wrap.
I ended up painting over all that writing on the PVC pipe. Probably a good idea to do at the beginning of the project! LOL
Now, just insert your wooden dowel through the PVC pipe and VOILA… you have the most adorable lollipop!
PIN FOR LATER!!!!
Seriously, how fun and adorable are these? You can make them in a variety of colors and sizes. The possibilities are endless.
