Painted Thrift Store Chair Ideas

Hello friends! I hope that you all had a wonderful week. This week I am sharing with you some painted thrift store chair ideas. Old chairs are usually very easy to find at Thrift Stores. You can find a huge variety of different styles and unique looks. In addition, they are often fairly inexpensive. There are many ideas that you can do with them from just simply painting them and using them in your home or to create whimsical garden art in your yard.

While I was out thrifting, I came across two of these chairs for only $5.00 a piece. Now, I will admit that they are not the prettiest chairs, but they will be. I decided that they would make perfect garden art for my yard! Are you ready to see what I did? Let’s go!

Painted Thrift Store Chair Idea #1

For the first chair, I wanted to go bold and give it a fun, whimsical garden theme. Before I began painting, I gave it a good cleaning. Let me tell you that this chair was filthy! Next, I grabbed some red and turquoise paint and painted the chair.

To make it a garden theme, I screwed in some hooks onto the back of the chair on each side and hung some garden gloves and a small garden fork. I thought it looked adorable and it’s a great way to store your garden tools. I don’t know if you are like me or not, but I am always misplacing my garden gloves!

For the final touch, I used my Cricut machine with some vinyl and made this saying. ” Of all the joys my life brings, a blooming garden makes my heart sing.” I placed it onto the back of the chair. How cute is that?

I placed a potted planted on top to finish it off. I just love how it turned out and I think it definitely looks like a whimsical garden chair. What about you?

I decided to go a little more subtle with the second chair, but still colorful. For this color palette, I chose turquoise and yellow. If you look closely, there’s also a little bit of green in the mix because the two colors combined creates green. I added a Spring pillow and placed a wreath around the top and Voila!! It creates a fun focal piece in my planter!

I hope these Painted Thrift Store Chair Ideas gave you some ideas on how to dress up your yard and garden using some items that you may have not thought to use. Think outside of the box when creating yard decor. Incorporating furniture into your yard and garden will create unique and whimsical focal pieces. Paint them a variety of vibrant colors to add a pop to your garden. Get as creative as you can and always remember to have fun!
