Simple Fall Mantel

Today is officially the first day of Fall and I couldn’t be more excited to share with you my Simple Fall mantel. I decided to keep my design a little more simple this year, well simple for me anyway. Lately, I have been in a bit of a creative funk and I have been on a personal mission to try and de-clutter my home and make things a little more simple. I will admit that it is hard for me because when it comes to decorating, I am definitely a maximalist.

The mantel is always the first area that I decorate because it is such a focal point in our home. It’s where I create my color palette that inspires the decorating for the rest of the room. My Fall Mantel this year is all about simplicity and texture. I’ve added some non-traditional items and greenery to create texture and a soft and cozy vibe. I hope these ideas inspire you! Use them to decorate bookshelves, a table or any vignette. Let me show you how!

These lanterns are one of my favorite things on the wall above my mantel and I leave them up all the time. They are always a staple in my mantel decor and I think they are just beautiful. They create balance which is always important in my design. Lanterns and candles are great to create that mood lighting that always makes your space feel warm and cozy.

A simple idea to create some elevation is to grab some books! Use ones that are part of your color palette. You can find books at thrift stores for little money. If you can’t find them in the colors that you are looking for, you can always paint them too!
