Diy Dollar Tree Mop Christmas Tree

Today’s Christmas craft just couldn’t get any easier! I have been on a mission this year creating and buying small trees to decorate my Christmas Mantel. The theme that I am going with this year is a Winter Wonderland with a lot of trees. With the cost of things these days, we really have to get creative and crafty on a budget. I went to my go to place, the Dollar Tree and grabbed a few items to create this Diy Dollar Tree Mop Christmas Tree that turned out absolutely beautiful! The best part? It only cost a few dollars to make!

I grabbed this mop pad and a styrofoam cone tree from the Dollar Tree to get started. In addition, I used a few other supplies that I had on hand.

I began by measuring the height of the cone tree and cut the mop to the length that I needed. Let me warn you ahead of time, this mop gets pretty messy when you cut it! Be sure to have a trash can near by so that you can wipe the shedding of the mop right on into it!

I attached the mop to the tree using hot glue. The mop didn’t completely cover the circumference of the cone tree, so I simply used the piece that I cut off and patched it on in where it needed it.

It looked a little bulky, so I took a pair of scissors and gave it a good shaping hair cut.

How to create a stand for the tree.

To create a stand for my Diy Dollar Tree Mop Christmas Tree, I used a wooden spool, a wooden dowel and some jute twine. I don’t know about you, but I think jute twine just makes everything look better! Using a dab of hot glue, wrap the jute around the wooden spool.

Next, apply another dab of hot glue into the hole of the spool and place the wooden dowel into the center. Let me tell you about a little mistake that I made, so you don’t do the same. Make sure that you don’t let the wooden dowel poke through the bottom of the spool. By doing so, it will make the stand wobbly and not flat. This will cause your tree to not stand properly and will fall over.

To finish off the top of the tree, I added this beautiful and vintange looking knob that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.
