Diy Sheet Music Ornaments

Welcome back friends! Today I will be sharing with you how to make easy Diy Sheet Music Ornaments. I love crafting with sheet music. Whether it be real sheet music from a music book or going on to google and search for sheet music images. There is a feeling of vintage and timeless nostalgia that I get from these ornaments. They are simply beautiful and are very easy to make!

For this ornament, I used a wooden star that I found over at the Dollar Tree in the Crafters Square section. The Dollar Tree has a good variety of different shapes that are perfect to turn into Christmas Ornaments. You will find star shapes, hearts, circles and crosses to name a few.

Here is what you will need to make Diy Sheet Music Ornaments

  • Various Wooden Shapes from the Dollar Tree
  • Mod Podge
  • Sheet Music
  • Glitter
  • Ribbon
  • Glue Gun

My favorite Christmas song of all time is “O Holy Night”, so I searched in Google Images for a free printable to use for my diy sheet music ornament.

Begin by tracing out the shape onto the back of the sheet music and cut it out with a pair of scissors.

Next, you will need to grab some Mod Podge. Simply paint your Mod Podge onto the star and then apply the sheet music directly over it. Make sure to smooth out any wrinkles as you go.

Originally, I was going to leave the edges raw and not paint them. However, I decided that they needed a little bit of color. I painted them Cottage White in Folk Art paint. This is a beautiful, creamy white color and happens to be one of my favorites!

To add a little sparkle and shimmer to the ornament, I applied Mod Podge around the edges and then sprinkled on white glitter. The sparkle against the Christmas Tree lights is just beautiful and the light bounces off it giving it that perfect glistening look.

To hang the ornament, I strung some twine through the hole. I finished it off with a small bow and glued a pearl on top! It’s just the perfect little star ornament and I love that it has the lyrics to my favorite Christmas song on it. These would make great gifts and keepsake ornaments for your friends and loved ones.
