Diy Chandelier Bird feeder

My backyard is a haven for birds. I love to have my morning cup of coffee on the patio and listen to them sing. It’s like I have my own little bird concert. They love to swoop down and eat the dogs food right out of their bowl! Needless, to say I have chubby little birds in my yard!

A friend of mine gave me an old chandelier that her husband had rescued from a dumpster a few years ago. When she asked if I wanted it….of course I said yes!!! Talk about being lucky.😀 It’s been through a few transformations already and it needs a little updating again. I decided that a bird feeder will be its next purpose. It was a pretty easy thing to do and turned out absolutely beautiful. I’m going to show you exactly how I made my own diy chandelier bird feeder in just a few simple steps! I hope it inspires you to make one too.

I’ve seen these re-purposed chandeliers all over Pinterest and I fell in love with them! They are so beautiful and unique and make a fun decorative element for yard decor. Plus….I really wanted to give those cute, chubby little birds a fun place to eat!

Let’s get started!

I removed the candlestick lighting by simply unscrewing them. Next, I took bolts and tightened the plates down. I’m sorry that I do not have pictures of that process. I’ve had this chandelier for a few years and it’s been through few transformations!

These teacups and saucers were perfect for this project. They’re what’s left of an old china set that I have had for many years. I’ve always thought they were so pretty and I knew they would come in handy one day.

I used E6000 glue adhesive onto the bottom of the plate and attached it to the chandelier.

I did the same to the teacups and repeated it all around.

After it was all done, I let it dry for 48 hours. I added some bird seed and that’s all there is to it!

It’s so pretty!

It looks so pretty in my yard and adds that perfect pop of color and whimsy-ness. I thinks it’s safe to say that the birds like their fancy new feeder.

Pin for later!!!

Next time you see one of these old chandeliers in your thrift store, don’t pass it up! Think of how you can re-purpose it into your own diy chandelier bird feeder.
