Hey friends! I have another FUN and EASY Valentine’s Craft to share with you today. I’m super excited how this turned out. I like to call this one my “LOVE IS IN THE AIR SIGN.” This craft is not just for Valentine’s day…it can be displayed all year long. You can customize it to whatever colors you decorate with to incorporate into your home for everyday decor and to whatever size you like. It’s a perfect word to be displayed as a gentle reminder to LOVE one another!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 wood hearts from the Dollar Tree.
- L O V E letters.
- Paint colors of your choice.
- Wood sign for backing, roughly 1′ x 2′ in size.
- Paint brush
- Glue gun
- Waverly antique glaze.
Instructions:
For this project, I am recycling an old Christmas sign. I started by taking the Waverly chalk paint in Truffle and painted it over the letters of the word NOEL and along the edges of the sign.
Once it was dry, I painted the color Plaster over it.
To give it a weathered look, I applied the paint mostly in the center and feathered it off on the edges.
I found these letters at Hobby Lobby and gave them a good coat of paint in the color Plaster.
Next, I took my Waverly antique glaze and weathered them up a bit. I applied it with a wadded up paper towel only to where I wanted the antique look to be.
Flipping the hearts over to the backside, I painted them each these colors.
I chose to used more of the pastel colors, but they would look beautiful in any color that you choose.
To distress them up a bit, I took my sanding block around the edges.
Lastly, I just hot glued everything together!
I LOVE how this turned out! I also love how you can easily transition it from Valentines to everyday decor.
Well, what do you think? I hope you like it too! My wish is that it has inspired you to create, make and decorate one for yourself.
