Halloween is my favorite time of the year! As soon September hits, it’s all hands on deck over here. The boxes come down and the decorating begins! Let me tell you that I have collected a ton of stuff over the years and I may or may not have been told that I have a bit of a Halloween addiction. That’s ok. The way that I look at it is like this…it brings me joy. As much as my family likes to tease me about it, it brings them joy too. Why on earth would I want to deprive my family of joy, right? If I didn’t decorate, believe me they would be sad about it. I will be real with you all.. if there was a such thing as Halloween Anonymous, I may need to check myself in at some point. 😂 I’m not afraid to admit it!
I am so excited to share with you my Hocus Pocus Inspired Halloween Mantel. This year, much to my own surprise and self control, I decided to use most of the decorations that I already had and a lot that I have made myself. I’ve learned that I don’t have to use everything in my decor stash at all at once. Bringing out different pieces each year actually feels like I am using new things. Changing them up a bit by adding some paint really gives your old decorations a fresh new look.

Are you ready to see my Hocus Pocus Inspired Halloween Mantel?
My kids and I love to watch the movie Hocus Pocus every year during the Halloween season. For my birthday this year, my husband got me the little POP Sanderson Sister Witches. I knew right away that the theme for my mantel was going to be inspired by Hocus Pocus.
The Hocus Pocus luminary was a Ross find from last year and goes perfectly with the theme. The candlesticks and holders are a new purchase this year from Amazon. I love how they look and the best part is that they are battery operated with a remote. There is flicker option and you can set them on a timer. That’s a win win for me!! If you are interested in them, you can check them out here. You can see the candlestick holders here. They look beautiful lit up at night and add the perfect touch of ambience with the flickering lights.
I purchased the October 31 sign over at JoAnns a few years ago.
This candle holder is a diy that I made using a few things from the Dollar Tree. It was so fun to make and it’s even interchangeable. You can change out your decor for Fall, Christmas and whatever holidays you would like to use if for. You can see a video on how I made it here . By the way, that Haunted Nights candle from Bath and Body Works smells AMAZING!
I spray painted a few of my old pumpkins and added some black polka dots to the one.
TIP: Candlesticks are great ways to add height in your mantel and vignettes and the pumpkin was a perfect topper for it.
Get creative with cake stands, candlestick holders and whatever else you can think of to create different levels of height. The black riser was a simple Dollar Tree diy that I made. You can see how I made it here and you can see how I painted the black and white pumpkin here.
Meet Witch Hazel. She is by far one of my favorite crafts that I have ever made. She’s been around for a few years now and is always a staple in my Halloween decor. The picture frame is another Dollar Tree diy. I used a wood frame and a Halloween card to create an inexpensive sign. It cost me a whopping $2.00 to make.
The EEK sign is another Dollar Tree craft. If you would like to learn how to make it, you can watch a video of it here.
The Thrift store is great place to shop for Halloween stuff. I’m always amazed at what people get rid of. I found this cauldron and the boots at the Thrift store, grabbed some paint and Halloween ornaments and turned it into this cute candy holder.
