Fall Front Porch

Fall season has arrived and I couldn’t be more excited to get my Fall front porch decorated. That means the Fall decorations have come down from the rafters and are ready do their thing…make this house cozy and welcoming. I live in Southern California and we don’t get much Fall like weather here. It’s hot and needless to say, I am usually sweating my booty off decorating the outside of my home. I am hopeful every year that at some point the weather will cooperate with me. A girl can dream, right?

Like most of you, I get a lot of my inspiration from Pinterest. I can spend hours looking at Fall Front Porch decor. Some of the homes are absolutely stunning! My dream one day is to have a home with a huge wrap around porch with a swing. Oh… the decorating possibilities would be amazing! Until that day comes, my little front porch will do.

We have recently added new landscaping and a new walk way up to our door. There are now two different ways to approach it. You will see that in just a minute.

This year I decided to change things up a bit and decorate my whole house with things that I already have. As I was going through it all, I realized that my goodness…I have a ton of things things! There were some things that I completely forgot that I had. Shopping my own stash actually turned out to be fun and saved me a ton of money too. I highly recommend that you try it.

I decided that I would pick up a few Mums over at Lowes. That seemed to be the common plant on Pinterest Fall porches to add some color. Now, I will tell you that I am not a green thumb kind of person and I don’t normally buy real plants. I have been known to kill a few in my time.

The plant lady at Lowes assured me that they are easy to take care of. She said to just keep moist and they love the sun. Well, that sounded easy enough for me! I brought them home and was instantly in love with how they looked. Well, that lasted for a few days and let’s just say that they don’t look like that anymore. They may or may not make it. I put my husband on the job to see what he can do.

This little guy has been around here for a few years. He was a yard sale find for roughly $5.00. He looks mighty dapper as he greets everyone as they arrive at the door.

Let’s talk about how cute this little guy is! He is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face with his big, happy grin.

This is the other entrance to our front porch. Having that area accessible has really opened up the space nicely and has created more space for decorating.

This year I wanted to keep things a little more simple on the porch. I like to change the theme up every year. You can see how I decorated last years porch here. It was in black and white and just beautiful.

The pumpkin patch sign is one of my favorite purchases from Hobby Lobby. It’s pretty big and provides a good statement piece for the porch. I added a simple wreath to the door to tie it all in.

That’s all friends! I hope that this gave you some ideas on ways to decorate your Fall front porch. Having a small space, doesn’t mean that you can’t make it look great.

DON’T FORGET TO PIN FOR LATER!!!

I encourage you to shop through your own stash to see what goodies you already have on hand. It really turned out to be a fun and saved me some money too. That’s a win!
