Dollar Tree Snowflake Ornaments

The Dollar Tree is my go to place when it comes to Diy Christmas decor. They have so many cool things that you can use just as they are or if you want to get crafty and take them up a notch! I grabbed these Dollar Tree Snowflake Ornaments and figured that I could DIY them into something beautiful.

For Christmas this year I want to go for a vintage and neutral color scheme in my living room. I’ve always loved how elegant the color combination of creamy white, gold and silver looks together. The colors together make me dream of a winter wonderland and these large snowflake ornaments are a perfect way to get started with the theme.

How to make Dollar Tree Snowflake Ornaments

Supply List:

  • Large Snowflakes from the Dollar Tree
  • Small Snowflake ornaments from the Dollar Tree
  • White paint
  • White glitter
  • Glue Gun
  • Ribbon

Begin by painting the front and back of the larger snowflake ornament white. I used Folk Art Cottage White and it happens to be one of my favorite white paints to use. The paint goes on smoothly and the coverage is great.

To give it a distressed and vintage look, I sanded the whole snowflake paying attention to the edges.

If you haven’t checked out the Dollar Tree’s ornament section this year, I highly recommend that you do! They are really getting some beautiful ornaments in. Most of them are 2 for $1.25 and that is such a great deal. They have a couple of different options with the snowflakes available, so of course I grabbed both!

I glued one of them on in the center of the large snowflake with my hot glue gun. You can call it quits at this point and you would have a beautiful upcycled Dollar Tree Snowflake Ornament or you can add a little extra like I did. I applied Mod Podge around the edges of the snowflake and then sprinkled on some white glitter to give it a little bling and shimmer. You can also add a bow on top for a little extra flair! My apologies, but I didn’t take pictures of that process. However, you can watch a full video of this tutorial plus a few other Dollar Tree Christmas Diy’s over on my YouTube channel here.

I can’t decide which one that I Iike better! They are both beautiful in their own special way. Which do you like the most? With glitter and no bow or a bow and no glitter?

I hope that you all enjoyed this craft and you are leaving feeling inspired! Thank you so much for stopping by. Could you all do me a favor and share this to your inspiration board or your Facebook page? I would really appreciate it!
