Who’s ready for Christmas crafts? Although, it’s not officially Christmas season yet….it is Christmas in July. Woot Woot!!! It’s a great time to start thinking of how you’re going to decorate for the upcoming season and to get a head start on your crafting. Next time you are at the Dollar Tree be sure to pick up one of these Summer Mason Jar signs. I’m going to show you how easy it is to turn it into a SUPER CUTE Dollar tree Hot Cocoa Sign in just a few simple steps! If you can’t find this exact sign, no worries there are plenty other ways that you can make it too. Just get creative!
SUPPLY LIST:
- MASON JAR SIGN
- RED AND WHITE PAINT
- STRAWS
- GLUE GUN
- POM POM RIBBON
- FEATHER BOA
- PAINTBRUSH
- RIBBON
STEP 1: You will first begin by removing the embellishments on the sign. Flip it over and begin painting it the color of your choice. I chose red, but paint it whatever color you like! Paint the top white.
Step 2: I dusted off my cricut machine…literally! I haven’t used that thing in a long time and it took a minute to remember how to actually use the new design studio. Anyway, if you don’t have a cricut machine you can totally free hand it. 😀
As you can see, I’m a little rusty! LOL Let’s just say that I’m not aiming for perfection here. I decided to add some polka dots on it because polka dots make everything better!
Step 3: Grab the straws and cut them down to about 2 inches long and glue them to the top of the sign. I bought these straws at The Dollar Tree during Valentine’s Day and the colors worked perfectly.
STEP 4: You will take your pom poms and feather boa and cut them to fit the top of the mason jar. Simply glue them over where you painted it white.
I was going for the look of marshmallows and whipped cream! Can you see it?
STEP 5: Add a colorful bow and that’s it! You have to admit that this is pretty darn cute!
A great thing about this project is that it is reversible. Simply flip it back over and you still have the Summer Sign!
Do you think you will try this Dollar Tree Hot Cocoa sign to add to your Christmas Decor? I would love it if you would leave me a comment and let me know. 😀
REMEMBER TO PIN IT FOR LATER!!!
