Hey friends! I’m all about creating seasonal crafts on a budget. If that sounds like you, then you are in the right place. One of my favorite places to shop is the Dollar Tree, especially for seasonal decor. July 4th is right around the corner and I know you are probably looking for some inexpensive diy’s to make your decor pop. These Dollar Tree Firework Topiaries will be sure to look beautiful where ever you decide to place them.
Here is a list of what you will need for this project:
You can find all these supplies at the Dollar Tree.
- Wood dowels
- Patriotic Garland
- Tinsel Garland
- Tin Pail. If you can’t find these, you can also recycle your vegetable cans.
- Medium size squishy ball
- Glue Gun
- Floral Styrofoam
- Chalkboard tags
Instructions:
Step 1. You will first begin by poking a hole into the ball. As you can see, I just used a pair of scissors. Attach the wooden dowel to the ball with some hot glue.
Step 2. Grabbing your tinsel garland and your hot glue, start wrapping the tinsel around the ball. I found it best to work in small sections. Apply the glue and then the tinsel, until you have the whole ball covered.
Step 3. Cut your floral foam to the size you need. To help secure the foam, apply hot glue into the bottom of the pail and place the foam on top. Now pop your wooden dowel into the foam.
Step 4. Next, you will want to grab the star garland and wrap it around the dowel. I stuffed some tissue paper over the foam to hide it. It’s not fancy at all, but it worked! LOL
Step 5. For the final step, grab the chalkboard tags and write fun words on them that relate to fireworks. I chose BOOM and POP.
That’s all there is to it! I just love how they turned out and what I love more, is how easy they were to make. These would be so fun to add to your Patriotic Tablescape. Do you think you will make these Dollar Tree Firework Topiaries too? Let me know in the comments. 😀
If you enjoyed this patriotic craft, here are some others you may like.
Happy Creating!
