If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you should know by now that I love a good Dollar Tree craft! I picked up one of these plain white candles from there and turned it into the most beautiful diy music sheet candle that is for sure boutique worthy. Believe me, when you are done creating your own, no one will ever know that this is a simple Dollar Tree candle.
Here is what you need:
- Tall glass candle. I got mine from the Dollar Tree
- Scrapbook paper
- Mod Podge
- Hot glue
- Embellishments
- gold glitter paint
I picked up the music sheet scrapbook paper over at Hobby Lobby. It is a 12×12 sheet and you can make 2 of these candles out of one sheet of paper.
I first started by measuring out the paper to fit the size of the candle.
Next, I simply brushed the mod podge onto the candle. I made sure to work in small sections so that I could smooth the paper out as I went.
I used my cricut tool to help smooth out the wrinkles, but a credit card works great too!
Continue to smooth and wrap the paper around the candle until the two ends meet.
Next, I applied some Waverly glitter paint all over the scrapbook paper. It’s translucent and adds just enough of a sparkle to the paper.
If you haven’t check out Walmarts Christmas section, you are missing out! They have a ton of mini ornaments to choose from that work great for embellishments on crafts. I grabbed a set of these and a few others! At 6 for $2.00, I couldn’t pass them up. I tied them to the top of the candle with some ribbon, jute and a sprig of red berries.
That’s all there is to it and it looks so beautiful and elegant. It totally looks like something you would purchase from a high end boutique and it only cost a few dollars to make!
I made this one too!
I hope that you enjoyed this craft and it inspires you to create and make your own diy music sheet candle. Now, who’s off to the Dollar Tree to grab a candle or two?
