Watermelon Front Porch Decor

Summer is almost here and I have been getting my decorations out and ready. That means that I need to choose a theme for how I want to decorate my front porch this year. I am excited to share with you my Watermelon Front Porch Decor. I’ve chosen to go a little more simple with my decor this year. I have combined some Dollar Tree diy’s mixed with a few goodies from Amazon to create this simple look.

The weather is already getting hot here in Southern California. I have a feeling that we are in for a HOT SUMMER this year and this California girl does not like extreme heat! However, I am looking forward to the activities that come along with Summer! My neighborhood is totally into celebrating the 4th of July and we always have a huge block party. This tradition has been going on for years and is a ton a fun! With that being said, I need to get busy getting the house and decor ready. Today I am starting with the front porch.

I love to combine my love for all things rustic in with some new stuff. You will find old and chippy mixed with some bright and cheery on my porch. Seasonal decorating doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Try using items that you currently have and incorporate a few new things. Just adding a few pops here and there will really liven up your space.

The first item to great my guests as they walk up to my front door is this adorable Hello Summer Watermelon flag. I found this over on Amazon and it matched perfectly with a black and white rug that I already have. You can find the flag here.

How cute is this watermelon pillow? It is actually a slip cover from Amazon that fit perfectly over a Fall pillow that I had in my stash. Slip covers are great to use and save you a ton of money and storage space down the road. You can find the Sweet Summertime Slip Cover here.

This Hello Summer sign is a Dollar Tree find. I thought it looked cute hanging on my Upcycled Window Planter Box. I added some geraniums from my yard. They are in full bloom right now and they added a perfect pop of color.

Diy Watermelon Front Porch Decor Ideas

This little planter was a fun and easy Dollar Tree diy and cost me about $10.00 to make. Adding in some diy’s gives your space a sense of uniqueness and you can customize things to your liking. You can see how I made the planter here.

My house is a little different than others. The front door is on the side of the house and not on the front. The space is fairly small and makes it a little challenging when decorating.

The door definitely needed a little something and I wasn’t having much luck finding a watermelon wreath. So, I made my own! This was a very simple wreath to make. Now listen… I don’t claim to be an expert wreath maker here by no means, but I thought it turned out pretty cute! I used some things from my Dollar Tree craft stash to make it for less than $10.00! You can see what I used and how I made it here.

This rug is one of my favorite things on the porch. The inspiration for this project is from a rug that I saw over at Target. They were selling it for $16.00 and I just didn’t want to spend that much for a rug. I remembered that I had a small black rug from the Dollar Tree and decided to get busy making my own. I love how this rug turned out. You can watch a video of how I made it here to get some inspiration! You can paint one to match any theme that you like too! The possibilities are endless with the holidays coming up!
