I am back with another budget friendly Gingerbread craft for you all! I just can’t get enough of these cute little Gingies!!! This Dollar Tree Gingerbread Garland is SO EASY to make and will only cost you a few dollars and a little bit of creativity. If you love Gingerbread men as much as I do, then you are going to want to make this Christmas Craft.
I’ve been on a roll this year decorating my kitchen with Gingerbread Men mixed with the Candy land Theme. It really has been a ton of fun and makes for a JOYFUL and COLORFUL space.
Supplies Needed:
- Dollar Tree Gingerbread Foam Cutouts
- Paint colors of your choice
- Bakers Twine or string
- Faux peppermint candies
- Glue gun
- hole punch
Here is what the pack of gingerbread men look like. I purchased them last year, so I do not have a photo of the original packaging. If for some reason you cannot find them at The Dollar Tree, I did see them over at Hobby Lobby too.
I first started by taking a hole punch and making holes on the arms so that I could string them later.
Paint your gingerbread man or girl however you would like. Get creative and have fun with this part! I made both girl and boy gingerbreads.
I had some puffy paint on hand and used it for the buttons and bows.
You can use small buttons, pom poms or whatever else you can think of too! Check out this gingerbread man sign that I made using small colorful buttons that look like candy. It turned out just adorable! You can see it here.
To string them together, grab the bakers twine or whatever string or ribbon you would like. Simply string the twine through the front and then through the back of the gingerbread men.
Grab a pack of these faux peppermint candies from Hobby Lobby and glue them between the gingerbread men to add a fun candy element and to tie the garland together.
I ended up hanging them on a shelf above my kitchen window! They are so fun and cute and added that final touch to my Candy land and Gingerbread vignette.
