With all this rain that we have been having the year, I have to admit that I am ready for Spring and sunshine! I can only imagine the beautiful blooms that we will be having this year in the garden. Some of the roses are already starting to bloom their stunning colors creating a beautiful palette. With that being said, it’s also time to start thinking about Spring decor. I went out to the crafty shed and created this Unique Diy Spring Topiary. It’s made with Dollar Tree supplies and a few other items that you can easily find or may have in your craft stash already!
These adorable rabbit napkins were the inspiration for this project. I found these over at Home Goods and have been waiting for the perfect craft to use them on.
Here is what you will need to create this Diy Spring Topiary:
- Dollar Tree Styrofoam Tree
- Napkins
- Dollar Tree glass candle holder
- Dollar Tree greenery sheet
- Hot Glue
- Mod Podge
- Knob
- Ribbon
To get started, you will want to make sure that you have separated the napkin to be only 1 ply. This will help with it adhering to the styrofoam tree properly.
Next, apply the mod podge to the styrofoam with a paint brush and then lay the napkin over it. Smooth it out as you go. I ended up needing to use two napkins to go all the way around the tree. NOTE: I applied the napkin to the top half of the tree only.
I wanted to add some greenery to the topiary, so I used one of the greenery sheets from the Dollar Tree. It comes in a square and you can find it in the floral section. I simply cut it to the size that I needed and used hot glue to apply it.
Next, I used some pom pom ribbon to bring the two different textures together.
Whenever I go to Hobby Lobby I always check out their knobs. They have so many cute ones to choose from and they are great to use for crafts! I had this pink rose that worked perfectly for the topper of my diy Spring Topiary! It gave it a unique and a little bit of the shabby chic look that I love so much. I simply popped it right into the styrofoam.
For the final touch, I glued it onto a Dollar Tree glass candle holder. I just love how this project turned out and I hope that you do too! Drop a comment below and let me know.😀
Ideas on how to style a Diy Spring Topiary
There are many ways that you can incorporate the Spring Topiary into your decor. I added mine to my Rustic Spring Mantel and it blends just beautifully. You can use them anywhere that you need some height as well. Place them on a vintage book stack for additional height. It would also be perfect to add to a Spring Tablescape or an Easter Vignette.
