Halloween Apothecary Decorating Ideas

Halloween just so happens to be one of my favorite Holidays! Ever since I can remember I have loved this time of the year. I am definitely a Fall girl and Halloween kicks off the whole season. Every year I decorate the house and each time I like to change up the theme of my decor. I have always wanted to do an Apothecary theme and this was the year I finally made it happen! If you are looking for some Halloween Apothecary Decorating Ideas that are spooky, but still elegant then look no further.

Believe it or not my inspiration for my Halloween Apothecary vignette all started with this cool looking Skeleton sitting on a stack of books! I found him over at Home Goods and just fell in love with him. Just look at the steampunk hat! Another cool feature is that it lights up and changes colors.

How to decorate a Halloween Apothecary vignette

When decorating and creating vignettes I always like to have different elevations to create a good visual for the eye. Adding books, risers, candle holders and other items with different levels of height creates a nice flow. Get creative with what you use! Shop around your house and see what you can come up with. Adding old in with some newer items gives your vignettes a nice custom look and makes it unique to your style.

In this photo I used an old family heirloom of sorts that is actually a dictionary! It is a bit weathered as you can see, which adds to the spooky element that I am going for and matches my color scheme! You can always shop thrift stores to find some old books. Keep in mind how the covers look to match your style and your color schemes. If you can’t find anything, remember that you can always paint the cover of the books too! Get creative! The dictionary adds some height for the apothecary bottles and candles and serves as a great surface for them.

This Dollar Tree skeleton looks extra spooky sitting on top of Spanish moss inside a cloche.

This Apothecary Shoppe picture was a fun and simple diy project. I used and old frame that I had and printed this image from the graphics fairy to create this beautiful picture.
