Dollar Tree Witch Hat Wreath

Let me just start by saying that I am not one who makes wreaths….. AT ALL! They have always intimidated me. BUT, this Dollar Tree Witch Hat Wreath was so easy to make! Believe me when I tell you….if I can make one so can you!

For this wreath you will want to head on over to The Dollar Tree. If you haven’t been there and looked at their craft supplies, you are missing out! It’s like the Disneyland of DIY’S! All of the supplies for this project are from The Dollar Tree. Here is what you need.

Supplies Needed:

  • Witch wire form from The Dollar Tree
  • 2 rolls each of orange, black and purple mesh
  • 1 package of black pipe cleaners
  • Glue gun
  • plastic spiders
  • ribbon
  • 1 package each of orange, purple and black mesh tubing

Step 1

I started by taking the black mesh and tying a knot around the top of the wire form. Next, I just simply started wrapping the mesh around the form. Continue this process all the way down. It took me about 1 1/2 rolls. When I got to the end, I tied another knot and secured it with hot glue.

Step 2

Next, I took all of my mesh and cut it into 8″ strips. This takes a little bit of time to do. I put on some Halloween music and got into the groove!

You’ll end up with piles like this!

Step 3

Next, I grabbed my pipe cleaners and twisted them around the wire form. They end up looking like a bunch of spiders hanging out on the wire! Kind of creepy. 😬

I grabbed the mesh and stacked them together. I gathered them in the center and then placed them onto the pipe cleaner.

Step 4

Next, I twisted the ends of the pipe cleaner over the mesh to secure it down, leaving the ends open. I sure hope this is making sense! I continued this whole process all the way around the rim of the hat.

This is what it ends up looking like. It’s getting there!

Step 5

I grabbed some of this mesh tubing and thought it would look great added in there. I cut it to 8″ pieces and did the same process as the mesh. Placing it wherever I thought it needed it.

Next, was embellishment time! I grabbed some plastic spiders and glued them onto the hat and onto the bow at the top of the hat.

I have to say that I’m really happy how this turned out! It’s not to shabby for my first time attempting a wreath. If you are like me and have felt a little intimidated on trying to make a wreath, let me tell you to just go for it! It really wasn’t that hard to do. Believe me…If I can do it, so can you!

I would love to know what you think of this project! Please leave a comment below. If you liked it, please do me a favor and……
