Do you love Halloween decorations and crafting on a budget like me? If so, I have got the cutest idea to share with you and it only costs a few dollars to make! This craft definitely involves thinking outside of the box. You will be amazed at what I used to create this spooky tree! How about a plunger? Yes, that’s right….. a plunger from the good o’ Dollar Tree!
Here is what you will need:
- A plunger from the Dollar Tree
- A bucket or pot; I got mine from the Dollar Tree
- Spanish moss
- Roughly 7 floral stems from the Dollar Tree
- Glue gun
- wire
- Embellishments (ghosts, spiders, etc.)
- ribbon
I started off by painting the stick part of the plunger black.
Next, I grabbed the floral stems and applied them with hot glue. Working my way all around the stick.
When I finished gluing them on, I wrapped wire around to secure them.
I took my bucket outside and spray painted it black.
Next, I folded the plunger upwards and pushed it into the bucket like this.
I secured it with some floral styrofoam.
Now I had to think of something to cover up all those stems. I had some extra black deco mesh left over from another project and decided that it would work well. I wrapped it around the base and used hot glue to secure it.
I filled the inside with some spanish moss.
The Dollar Tree has these cute little paint yourself ghost ornaments. I thought this little guy would look cute in my tree. I painted it white and added a bow to cover up the hole at the top.
I glued it onto a popsicle stick that I painted black and placed him in the moss.
A little bow finished it off! How stinkin’ cute is this?
