Dollar Tree Pumpkin Topiary

Hey guys! I know that it’s still only August, and I’m already talking about Fall crafts!

I’m just so excited about Fall and I have so many crafts to share with you, that I have to get started now! The Dollar Tree is by far my favorite place to buy craft supplies because you can save a TON of money and who doesn’t like to save money?

Dollar Tree pumpkins are one of my favorite craft supplies to buy because there are just so many things that you can do with them. Today I want to share with you a pumpkin topiary, that is easy to make and easy on your wallet! First, here are a list of things that you will need. Mostly everything is from The Dollar Tree.

Supplies Needed:

  • 3 pumpkins from The Dollar Tree
  • A small terra cotta pot
  • Paint
  • mod podge
  • wooden dowel
  • stryofoam
  • stick
  • glue gun
  • spanish moss

First, I started by painting the terra cotta pot white with Waverly chalk paint. You can find it a Walmart. It’s one of my favorite paints to use because it is so affordable!

It was looking a little too plain for me, so I decided to add some black paint along the edges to give it an aged look.

Next step was to get rid of those plastic stems, so that I can stack the pumpkins. By the way, how cute are these felt pumpkins?

The brown velvet just wasn’t working for my color scheme this year, so I just simply pulled if off. To my surprise, it came off pretty easy! I had some scrap material laying around, so I decided to glue it the pumpkin.

Next, I grabbed some floral styrofoam, set it in the pot and put a wooden dowel through it. I put some spanish moss on top of the foam. I grabbed my pumpkins and popped them through the dowel.

Now, I simply placed the wood piece inside of the hole and secured it with hot glue. You may need to pop your scissors in there to create a bigger hole, like I did.

I wanted to add a little something extra to the pot, so I decided to grab some ribbon and my stamps. That was just what it needed!! Cute, huh?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how this project turned out! It goes perfect with my black and white color scheme. I think that I might need to make a few more!
