Cute Lemonade Trailer Sign

Lemon decor is so popular! Are you a fan of it? If so, I think that you are going to love this Dollar Tree Trailer sign makeover. With its vibrant colors of pink and yellow, it just makes you happy when you look at. I had bought this trailer sign during Christmas and I have had it sitting in my craft stash for a good long while. It’s one of those projects that got lost in all of the other projects that I had going on. Can you relate? Anyways, it was worth the wait because let me tell you that it has transformed into such a cute lemonade trailer sign that will have you looking through your stash too!

Supplies Needed:

You will want to first begin by using a spackle tool or a butterknife to remove the door, window and wheel well from the trailer. Set aside. I used a Trailer Wood Cut out from the Dollar Tree. In case you cannot find one, here is a similar that you can use.

Trace the trailer shape onto the scrapbook paper and cut it out. Use a few different patterns and colors for a fun pop. I was lucky enough to score a great deal on scrapbook paper over at JoAnns a while back ago. I found this cute lemon paper and the yellow polka dots there too!

Apply mod podge onto the surface and place the paper on top. Smooth it out with a credit card or your hands until it adheres well. I have to say that I tried the iron on method for this project. You can see a full video of it here. It is so easy to do and is now my preferred method when using mod podge.

In case you haven’t tried it, you simply apply the mod podge and let it dry. You then place the scrapbook paper down and some parchment paper over the scrapbook paper. Next, grab an iron and iron over the entire piece for a few seconds. When you lift off the parchment paper, you will find that it’s perfectly adhered onto the surface with no wrinkles! So cool! Here is the link to the little iron that I used for this project. I just love how small and easy to use.

For the Wheel well, door and window I used this fun pink polka dot paper. Apply the same technique as above to these items. Once done, grab your glue gun glue them back onto the trailer.

For the tire, I cut out a lemon from the lemon scrapbook paper and used it as the hubcap. How cute!

How to decorate your Cute Lemonade Trailer Sign

It’s all about the details! I had some of this mini pom pom ribbon in my craft stash and used to finish off where the two pieces of paper came together.

By the way, I just love the yellow and pink together. It is so happy and the colors just go so well together. I think this is now one of my favorite colors combos. What do you think?

To create a cute banner, cut out small triangles out of your scrapbook paper. Arrange and hot glue them onto the trailer. Finish it off with some twine or ribbon. I wrote the word “Lemonade” on mine. Now, if for some reason you don’t like lemons, you can totally do this with watermelons, strawberries or whatever you like.

You can glue some ribbon onto the back to create a hanger or you can also make a stand. I took some of the towering tumbler blocks from the dollar tree and a small wood bead and came up with a diy stand.

Here is the finished result! What do you all think? I have to say that I just LOVE how it turned out. I told my husband I would like a real trailer like this one day! Wouldn’t that be a blast? For now, this one will have to do.
